My wife and I were looking through ideas for our next home and we came across some English home decorating plan themes and some English influenced home plans. Everything was state of the art and looked like it was designed by NASA, which many people confuse with being a English style home plan.
So what really makes a English home plan theme and what classifies something as truly English?
I started to plan my dream home and I was assured that my plans were truly English.
My English designed home plan includes a large brick faced estate with huge cathedral ceilings that lead to a huge peaked roof that come to a complete point at the top.
My idea is more of a English estate than anything else is and my home idea sprawls across a several thousand square feet foot plan. English design equals spacious luxury and that is exactly what I want in my English designed home and I keep adding to it every time I think about it.
My English designed home has at least 6 bedrooms and let us not forget the large kitchen with the breakfast nook. Nothing says English more than a large kitchen with a breakfast nook. Despite the breakfast nook, I still need at least two large rooms for entertaining.
My dining room will hold a majestic dining room table large enough to seat 2 or 3 dozen people comfortably for one of the best holiday dinners they have ever had. From the dining room, the party would move into my huge den with a central dance floor and a fireplace big enough to walk into and place the logs right in the middle.
My bedrooms are enormous enough to not only accommodate a huge king sized bedroom set of a bed, dresser, armoire, and table but my walk in closets are bigger than most people’s apartments. You could not only fit your wardrobe in your walk in closet but you could fit your tailor in there as well.
Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which are also the height of spacious luxury as well. The main downstairs bath would rival any bath found in any 5 star hotel with its gold fixtures and marble vanity tops.
While I am at it I might as well put a guesthouse on my property as well because what English designed estate is complete without a guest house bigger than most people’s homes? The guesthouse would be on the other side of the huge garden that every English estate must have as well.
Oh I have this all planned out and if I can just put the funds together I absolutely plan on building one of the most grand English influenced estates that the world has ever seen. I also have a really active imagination.
But that is okay because it is an over active imagination that causes some of these English designed estates to grow out of control in the first place. So when you think English designed home you must always think old world luxury that has the charm and spaciousness befitting old world royalty.
